Our Company

Beets Hospitality Group is an event management and catering company located in Livermore Valley Wine Country (Pleasanton, California). We operate two exclusive event venues, the Palm Event Center in the Vineyard and Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery. Our venues only function as event spaces -- for bridal, social and corporate events -- throughout the year. We pride ourselves on creating flawless, seamless events for our guests based on our extensive experience and thorough systems and planning. We provide elevated service while still being friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. Our company strives to operate the premier event venues in the Bay Area.

Our Catering

Our company was founded by CEO Read Phillips, a graduate of the Culinary Art Institute of Hyde Park. She has cultivated a culinary culture at Beets of high standards, wanting our guests to feel as if they are dining at their favorite restaurant when at an event, rather than stereotypical banquet food. Our menus include a wide variety of inspired items -- everything from an entree of duck confit, faro, escarole, arugula and currant gastric, to a host course of braised pork steamed buns. We also strive to create unique food upgrade experiences, such as a late night French fry bar, ramen bar, or donut flambé. We have partnerships with the wineries that sit next to our event venues and promote a wine country lifestyle in our cuisine.

Our company employs 30+ full-time employees and 80+ part-time employees (servers, bartenders and setup crew). Livermore Valley Wine Country is a special corner of the Bay Area. Nestled among the eastern hills of Tri-Valley, Livermore Wine Country is a picturesque valley filled with over 50 wineries and numerous recreational opportunities. We are an up-and-coming area that is increasingly becoming popular over Napa and Sonoma for events. Our venues are easy to travel to, located in a beautiful area, and more affordable than other areas. We receive clients from a wide range of locales, including the South Bay, San Francisco, Peninsula, and East Bay. It's an exciting time to work in the valley with innovative partnerships happening between the corporate sector and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, more and more big companies relocating to our area due to our friendly local governments, and an increasing quality of wine. The Job

Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Banquet Manager to join our events team.

You will:

  • Oversee all aspects of the daily operation of the banquet department.
  • Schedule, interview, train, and conduct performance reviews of all banquet staff.
  • Monitor banquet event orders to determine equipment and staffing needs each week.
  • Work with banquet captains and event coordinators to ensure overall guest satisfaction.
  • Comply with weekly and monthly forecasting procedures.
  • Be visible during all events and assist staff as needed.
  • Be able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays. Typically swing shift weekend events.

You must:

  • Have 2-3 years of experience in Banquet / Event Management.
  • Be an experienced, confident and proven leader in food & beverage and banquet management.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have strong and well-developed skills in training, developing, and managing staff.
  • Maintain a positive attitude with a team approach.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
  • Be a guest-and-employee-focused manger.
  • Have strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Can formulate and maintain department labor budgets.
  • Be practiced in quick problem-solving with solutions that benefit both the company and the client.
